Jacksonville’s 25th Anniversary of Holiday Mitzvah – a quarter century of Giving

The Jacksonville Jewish Federation, River Garden Hebrew Home and AGING TRUE are celebrating their Silver Anniversary of Giving this year!  We will once again join together for the 25th annual Holiday Mitzvah program on Saturday, December 24, and Sunday, December 25.

Mitzvah is a Hebrew word meaning a kind act, a pious action. So it follows that every year for 25 years, dedicated Volunteers lovingly prepare delicious kosher meals at River Garden Hebrew home on December 24th, packaging them with care for Christmas morning delivery.

On Christmas morning, more volunteers from the Jewish community will take over the Meals on Wheels program, delivering a traditional holiday meal to over 400 homebound, elderly and disabled seniors.
