JaxParks Summer Camp Lineup

The City of Jacksonville Recreation and Community Programming Division (JaxParks) summer camp program registration period will open Tuesday, May 17.  Registration for all camps will be conducted online only unless indicated otherwise. It will remain open until all seats are filled.  Free public online access is available at all Jacksonville Public Libraries.

 

To register online visit www.JaxParks.com and click on the “Online Registration” link at the bottom of the page.  Enrollment is first-come, first-served until full.

 

Registration for some sports camps and aquatics camps are open now. See details below. 

Most JaxParks camps are offered for three two-week sessions, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Extended day programs for those camps are offered from 7-8 a.m. and from 5-6 p.m. for an additional charge.

Session 1: June 27 – July 8 (No camp on Independence Day holiday – Monday, July 4)

Session 2: July 11 – 22

Session 3: July 26 – Aug. 5

Targeted at children ages 4-15, JaxParks Summer Camps feature a variety of fun opportunities including art, nature, sports and aquatics camps. This year, JaxParks has added a second Kids Camp for ages 4 to 5, in response to parents’ requests.  Kids’ Camp activities are designed to keep younger children in motion and challenge their minds.

A full description of camps, schedules and fees is outlined below.

Summer Enrichment Camp

$75 per two-week session, $25 for extended day.

Ages 6 - 12

 

Participants will enjoy a wide variety of activities including sports, arts and crafts, swimming, board games and field trips. Camp hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with extended day available from 7 - 8 a.m. and 5 - 6 p.m. Teen camp for 13 - 15 year olds will be offered at Emmett Reed Center.

Teen Power 

$25 per two-week session.

Ages 13 - 15

 

Teens will take part in the JaxParks Teen Power Junior Counselor Program, where they are exposed to job skills, responsibility and networking. Teen Power participants are selected through an interview process. Contact camp location of choice to schedule an interview. If selected following the interview, participant's parents may then pay applicable fees.

Kids Camp

$75 per two-week session, $25 extended day.

Ages 4 - 5

 

These younger participants will enjoy loads of activities for active bodies and inquisitive minds.

Kidz Creationz

$75 per two-week session, $25 for extended day.

Ages 6 - 12

 

Participants are exposed to a variety of creative activities to engage their creative side. Arts, crafts, photography, multi-media creations and field trips are all part of the fun.

Performing Arts

$75 per two-week session, $25 for extended day.

Ages 6 – 12

 

Summer campers enjoy creative opportunities to experience the fun of music, drama, visual arts as well as eight field trips to great locations.

Kultivating Kids

$75 per two-week session, $25 for extended day.

Ages 6 – 12

 

From Native Americans to native Florida animals and plants, campers will enjoy this program packed with great activities and fun field trips.

Fitness Camp

$50 per two-week session, $10 for extended day.

Ages 6 – 12

 

Campers will enjoy activities that will keep them moving and create lots of fun. Activities will have an emphasis on active recreation and nutrition.

Sports, Fitness and Nature Camp

$75 per two-week session, $25 for extended day.

Ages 6 - 12

 

Participants will have the opportunity to experience team sports, learn how to stay fit and explore Northeast Florida's more natural side.

Youth Basketball Camp

$35 per one-week session.

 

Basketball drills and skills for youth ages 11 to 14. Program hours are 9 a.m. to noon.

Session 2: ages 13 - 14; Aug. 1 - 5

Youth Volleyball Camp

$35 per one-week session.

 

Volleyball drills and skills for youth ages 11 through 14. Program hours are 9 a.m. to noon.

Youth Soccer Camp

$35 per one-week session. 

 

Soccer drills and skills for youth ages 8 - 13. Program hours are 9 a.m. to noon.

Session 2: ages 11 - 13; July 18 – 22

Ocean Camp 

$150 per two-week session, $25 for extended day 

Ages 9 - 15

 

 

Campers will be able to enjoy surfing, building sandcastles, beach sports, nature hikes and a lot more at this adventurous ocean-based specialty camp. Program hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with extended day available 7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.

Junior Lifeguard Camp at the Cecil Aquatics Center

$150 per two-week session, $25 for extended day.

Ages 11 - 14

Campers will engage in activities to develop teamwork, self-respect, responsibility, leadership and professionalism while learning environmental sciences and emergency skills. Program hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with extended day available 7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.

Tennis Camp

$100 per participant, two days a week for six weeks.

Ages 7 - 13 

 

Participants will engage in instructional activities for beginning and advanced-beginning skill level. Participants will develop motor skills and become familiar with the rules of short and full court play. Registration for Junior Tennis Camp begins 9 a.m., May 19. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
