Affordable Healthcare Screening Available to the First Coast

Registration opens on February 7 and ends on March 19, 2011 for First Coast Community Health Screening, a program of the Clay County Chamber of Commerce, Orange Park Medical Center and Consolidated Laboratory Services. The program offers affordable healthcare screenings and is available to everyone that lives, works and plays in Northeast Florida.

Through this program, screening is available for only $50, a savings of $290 compared to similar programs in most healthcare settings. For an additional $20, men can be screened for prostate cancer with the PSA (prostate-specific antigen) test. Chamber members and individuals age 60 and older pay only $40 for the panel and $18 for the PSA. Detecting health risks before they become a problem is a benefit of annual health screenings.

Heart disease is the # 1 killer in the nation, followed by cancer, stroke and Diabetes. “Over the years this program has literally given people the knowledge they need to save their life,” said Marge Hutton of Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute Orange Park and Chairman of the Chamber Board of Directors. “This testing will help you take control of your health and give you the tools to make
good life style choices.”
