Down Syndrome Association of Jacksonville’s Cheerleading Team at Bolles High School Football Game | HS Sports
The Down Syndrome Association of Jacksonville is excited to announce their Cheerleading Group will make its cheering debut at the highly anticipated Bolles High School vs. Fleming Island High School football game this Friday night. The cheerleading team, which is made of up teenagers who all have Down syndrome, will be cheering during the halftime show at the Bolles High School field and will also be accepting donations for the DSAJ.
The vision of this program is to have inclusive opportunities within the community. These opportunities create awareness and acceptance and give the participants the feeling of belonging within the community. The Bolles Cheerleading Program has embraced this idea by organizing the following:
- The DSAJ Cheerleaders will practice at Bolles and learn a cheer that will be performed with the Bolles Cheerleaders at the game.
- The DSAJ Cheerleaders will participate in the “Spirit Tunnel” as the football players enter the field in the beginning of the game.
- The DSAJ Cheerleaders will perform a cheer and dance routine they have practiced and learned during the half time show.
- The Bolles Cheerleaders have designed and made available a t-shirt that will match the Bolles Uniform for the DSAJ girls to wear.
