Domestic dispute leads to manhunt in Mandarin

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A domestic dispute between a father and son in a Mandarin neighborhood led to a massive manhunt on Wednesday.

The search for the 30-year-old son ended without injures to anyone involved, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

The dispute began around 6:20 at the 10400 block of Ilah Road near Hood Road.

During the dispute between father and son, the son threatened harm to the father, according to JSO.

When the father called JSO, the son ran out of the back door and into a nearby wooded area.

According to JSO, the man has a history of mental health issues and officers believed he may have been armed, but couldn't cofirm if he did have a gun.

In response, a helicopter and K9 units were used to try and locate the man.

After an over two hour search and numerous tips from neighbors, the 30-year-old man called his father and asked to speak to police.

JSO Lt. Steve Mullen said officers were aware of the man's location and en route to speak with him.

At this time there have been no word on charges being filed on either party involved to.
