JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating a man who is suspected of employee theft for charging about $15,000 in personal charges on a work-issued American Express credit card.

Francis Lucas Yournett, 33, worked for Advantus Corp. on San Jose Boulevard and was terminated on July 16 for unauthorized personal charges on the card, which he was issued to use for traveling for work-related purposes.

The charges, many of which were done out of state, include Carnival Cruise Lines, a children's birthday at Chuck E. Cheese, and car repairs at a local Honda dealership, according to a JSO report.

When confronted with the unauthorized charges, Yournett offered to pay them back with funds from a company he claimed to own, but that was not done, the report stated.

The company is still compiling the documentation of Yournett's theft from the accounting department.
