Duval County School Board members today provided Superintendent Ed Pratt-Dannals with his evaluation for the 2010/2011 school year.

The Superintendent was evaluated in seven areas of responsibility, including relationships with the Board, community relationships, staff and organizational relationships, educational leadership, fiscal leadership, personal qualities and an overall performance rating.

“The annual evaluation is an important opportunity to share valuable feedback to the Superintendent to assure that the Superintendent and Board team are aligned to move our district forward,” said Board Chairman W.C. Gentry. “I think the evaluation by the Board members reflects the confidence the Board has in the Superintendent’s leadership and direction, but also recognizes we have not fully met the goals the Superintendent and Board have set for ourselves.”

Overall, the School Board rated the Superintendent as “Acceptable” and cited Fiscal Leadership, Personal Qualities and Community Relationships as his strongest assets. The area that members of the Board thought needed greater improvement was the selection and accountability of administrative staff.

Ed Pratt-Dannals was named the Superintendent of Duval County Public Schools in October 2007.

Duval County Public Schools operates 177 schools and serves approximately 123,000 students. The school district is committed to providing high quality educational opportunities that will inspire all students to acquire and use the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in a global economy and culturally diverse world.
