Chicken lovers can get a free meal on National Chicken Lovers Day - Thursday, September 15.
 

Pollo Tropical, the restaurant chain, famous for its marinated, flame-grilled chicken that opened with much fanfare at the St. Johns Town Center last November, is celebrating the day in a big way.

Anyone who comes by Pollo Tropical’s newest location at 10989 San Jose Boulevard in the Mandarin Corners Shopping Center from Noon to 7:00 p.m. and either clucks or professes their love for poultry will receive a free Tropichop –the restaurant’s popular meal in a bowl complete with rice, beans and its famous grilled chicken.

“This is a great way to reward our loyal Jacksonville Pollo Tropical fans, and provide them a sneak preview of our new location in Mandarin,” said Vicky Timmer, Region Director for Pollo Tropical.  “This second Jacksonville location offers families another convenient location to enjoy our value and variety.”

Official grand opening festivities take place on Friday, September 23 with a tropical beach theme party, including a news media challenge Robosurfing contest – where the Pollo Tropical will make a $1,000 donation to the winning media personality’s charity of choice – music and more.  The first 100 people in line will receive certificates good for one Create Your Own Family Meal on their next visit, and one of these first lucky customers will win Free Pollo Tropical for a Year!*

The Mandarin Pollo Tropical location will feature the same great marinated, grilled chicken and made-from-scratch sides the restaurant chain is famous for – as well as table delivery, WiFi, real plates, original works of art that parody great masters, beer, wine, sangria and much more.  Customers will be able to dine in, take out or use the restaurant’s convenient “Pollo on the Go” drive thru. The restaurant will open daily at 10:30 a.m., seven days a week.

On the menu are Jacksonville favorites such as the famous citrus-marinated grilled chicken, an assortment of signature sandwiches and a variety of wraps – including the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich, Classic Chicken Sandwich with Peppadew Sauce, Guava Pork BBQ Sandwich, Chicken Caesar Wrap, and a Chicken Quesadilla Wrap and the new Chicken Avocado Club Wrap.

Other menu items include savory Roast Pork, pulled and served with sautéed onions, Guava BBQ Riblets, Create Your Own TropiChop Bowls, Grilled Wings plus Family Meals and Kids’ Meals. The complimentary Salsa Bar is stocked with all the Pollo Tropical favorite sauces including the new spicy Poyo-Poyo Sauce, Cilantro Garlic, Fresh Salsa, Salsa Fuego, Curry Mustard, Guava BBQ and more.
