School is out! All across Florida, students looking for summer activities. No wonder so many national programs highlight the fun of getting outdoors. June has the most daylight hours and the longest day of the year, providing plenty of opportunity for families and friends to enjoy nature and each other.

Coast Guard Auxiliary offers boating safety classes

Spring is just around the corner and now is a great time to refresh your boating skills by taking a boating safety class. Florida law requires boat and personal watercraft operators born on or after January 1, 1988 to pass an approved boating safety course and carry photo identification along with their Florida Boating Safety Education Identification Card if they operate any boat or PWC with a 10 hp motor or larger. The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary specializes in providing one day boating safety education classes for preparation and testing to obtain your Florida Boating Education Identification Card. You will learn skills from experienced boaters who have a passion for boating safely. Classes are conveniently held in various locations in the Jacksonville area including Mandarin, Arlington, Jacksonville Beach, Fernandina Beach, Green Cove Springs and St. Augustine. Upcoming dates include February 11, 18, and 25.
