About 80 people attended the groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, May 3, 2012 for Brooks Rehabilitation’s new Bartram Campus.

“Today marks the beginning of an expansion of Brooks Rehabilitation’s coordinated continuum of world-class rehabilitation services. It also allows us to reach an underserved yet rapidly growing population in Northern St Johns County/Southern Duval County to continuously improve the Jacksonville healthcare system for the benefit of our community,” said Gary Sneed, Chairman of the Board.

Bartram Lakes, Brooks Rehabilitation's Assisted Living Facility
The first phase of the Brooks Rehabilitation Bartram project includes a 100-bed skilled nursing facility, a three-story, 61-unit assisted living facility (ALF), and two GREEN HOUSE® trademarked 12-bed memory care homes to provide specialized services to meet the growing needs of the senior population.

“The approach in developing the Bartram campus is to provide a variety of unique services for the elderly population that will continue the Brooks tradition of expertise, outstanding clinical outcomes, and patient-centric services,” said Doug Baer, President and CEO of Brooks Rehabilitation. “As Bartram is an extension of our Brooks continuum of care, we will be able to provide seamless transitions for patients between various levels of care, effectively treating patients in the right setting for their individual needs. This will result in the best possible outcomes at the lowest cost,” he continued.

Brooks anticipates a 12-month construction period for their Bartram Campus. The project will have a total capital investment of $35 million and employ 225 people.
