Early Learning Coalition of Duval will have the 7th annual Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) Kick-Off on Saturday, Jan. 29, at three locations around Jacksonville- FSCJ (Advanced Tech Center @ the Downtown Campus), Fletcher High School and Ed White High School. Each location will enroll eligible 4-year-olds into Florida’s FREE VPK program from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

To be eligible for VPK, children must turn 4 years old on, or before, Sept. 1, and they must live in Florida. Parents will need to bring 1 proof of child’s age and 1 proof of Florida residency.  Typical examples for each are:

For proof of age:   (Child must be born between 9/2/2006 and 9/1/2007.)

Birth Certificate, Blue shot records signed by doctor, Passport or Military ID.   

For proof of residency:  


Driver’s License, Utility bill, Lease Agreement, FL Vehicle Registration Card or Pay stub

* We are also asking parents to provide their child’s Social Security number.

Wachovia, A Wells-Fargo Company, is sponsoring the Kick-Off and other community events throughout the Spring. Eligible children will receive a free book when they enroll in VPK.

  • Fletcher High School, 700 Seagate Avenue—Cafeteria
  • FSCJ- Downtown, Advanced Technology Center, Corner of State St. and Pearl St.—T140&T141

Families may also enroll in VPK at Ribault High School on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm.
